Funds Mutual Vanguard The Passaic County freeholders have approved $3.1 million in open-space grants for 16 projects, ranging from urban parks on the Passaic River to forest parcels in the Highlands.

Funds Mutual Top More than half of the funding, $1.9 million, was earmarked for acquisition of property in Clifton, Ringwood, Wanaque, Wayne and West Milford. Ten smaller grants totaling $1.2 million were approved for rehabilitation of parks in Bloomingdale, Haledon, Hawthorne, Paterson, Pompton Lakes, Ringwood, Wayne and West Paterson.

With the passage of a measure in Hudson County yesterday, New Jersey became the first state in which every county has approved an open space ballot measure. Earlier in 2003, a total of 35 ballot measures for land conservation were approved by voters in 15 different states. In total, they raised $ related purposes. Added to the November results, the total local and state open space funding created at the ballot box in 2003 is now approximately $1.8 billion.

OPEN-SPACE LAND GRANTS

Voters are being asked to create an open space, recreation and farmland preservation fund. The issue before voters is a proposed expansion of uses of already approved local open space dollars, to add farmland preservation, maintenance of open space, and paying off open space preservation debt. Residents are being asked to allow the township council to double the open space tax, which could raise a potential $248, 000 next year.

High Yield Plus Fund Inc. (the Fund) is a diversified, end management investment company. The Fund's primary objective is to provide a high level of current income to shareholders. Five years ago, New Jersey voters approved the Garden State Preservation Trust Fund, a decades worth of money to preserve a million acres of open space and farmland. The fund made $98 million available for preservation each year for ten years. Since then, over 300, 000 acres have been added to New Jerseys inventory of preserved lands, including local parks, wetlands, farmlands and forests. So when it came time to ask voters to amend the Garden State Preservation Trust to take advantage of low interest rates, they did it again this Fall, 1!

Funds Load Mutual No Deputy Freeholder Director Lois Cuccinello said Monday that the county is doing what it can with its open-space tax fund to assist community projects. Sixteen of 26 applications were approved in the new funding round.

Funds Investment "We try to give back as much to the municipalities as possible from the fund," Cuccinello said.

Funds Retirement Clifton Mayor Jim Anzaldi said the county's $800,000 grant - matching a similar grant from the state Green Acres program - will provide public access to the Passaic River bank on Dundee Island near Dundee Dam.

Funds Trust "It's a great opportunity for us," Anzaldi said. The state and county grants will enable Clifton to buy 4.25 acres from the Safas Corp. for $1.6 million. This parcel is adjacent to about three acres of city-owned land where officials envisioned establishing a wildlife sanctuary.

Closed End Funds Wayne Mayor Scott Rumana was delighted that his township was approved for two grants totaling $600,000.

Funds Ohio Unclaimed "We're thrilled," Rumana said. "These are big projects for us."

Aim Funds One grant provides $400,000 to help purchase nearly 27 acres of woodland from St. Joseph's Medical Center where a housing project was proposed. The parcel is adjacent to William Paterson University and near High Mountain Wilderness Park.

College Free Funds Grant The other grant is for $200,000 toward improvements to the Barbour Pond Park athletic field.

Active Funds Index Investor "We have such a field space crunch problem. It's going to allow us to expand our recreational programs," Rumana said.

Electronic Funds Transfer Wanaque Mayor Warren Hagstrom said he had hoped for more than the $100,000 grant approved by the freeholders to help his town pay off a $1.5 million buyout of a wooded ridge where a housing development called Wanaque Manor was proposed.

Ci Funds "But that's fine," he said. "Every little bit helps."

Funds India Mutual Ringwood Mayor Wenke Taule said she was happy that the county not only provided a $110,000 grant to help buy a recreational field but also will directly purchase 32 acres of forest land adjacent to Tranquility Ridge.

Cost Easy Exchange Fund Funds "That was a very good development for us, because that frees up more of our open-space money" for other projects, Taule said.
